He has just started to walk and is loving this new ability of his. He also walks on his knees and still crawls (it's faster!), but with each new day he is walking on his own more and more. His vocabulary is growing quickly too. At the moment it consists of:
Around his 1st Birthday
Mama, Daddy, Nanny, Pa, Grandma (ma-ma), cheese, teddy, milk (mla-mla), apple (bapu), spoon (poon), bubble, ball, more, roll (as in roll the ball), pour, two, dolphin (do-do), fish (tash), star, oval (ma-mu), car, DVD (yes, that's right!), TV, no!, ta, tent, knee, toes, doodle, bath, poo, jeans, mmm (yum), all the animal noises (moo, woof, baa, brr-elephant)..... and so on. There are other things he says which we are yet to translate.
He still only has 4 teeth (top two, bottom two), but has no trouble eating! Loves most food, especially cheese and yoghurt. Breakfast is 2 weetbix, 1 banana & a cup of milk. Lunch is usually a piece of cheese, a sandwich (loves his avocado sandwiches, and he's good with peanut butter and all that too), and some yoghurt. Sometimes he'll have a plain biscuit or some Tiny Teddies for a snack (or fruit). He goes through periods of fussiness with his evening meal - preferring sometimes to spit it out. Overall he's great with fruit & vegetables, but is not always keen on meat. Sometimes we can get him to eat some chicken or a homemade beef hamburger, but otherwise he prefers tuna. He has just started to use the spoon himself with some meals - which can get a bit messy, but overall most of the food ends up in his mouth :)
He is still a great sleeper and sleeps 7pm-7am (some mornings he will sleep until 7:30-8:00am), and has in the past month cut down to the one day-sleep. At this stage he goes down around 10-11am for about 2-3 hours.
So there you go. That's where Wes is at!

You can add to that word list: bib, banana (na-na!), car (also he makes the noise brmm-brmm!), mirror (mamaa), towel, taa-ta (as in fritata!) and more. :)
What a blessing children are. Good to see he's learning all the important words like DVD, TV, and which foods to ask for.
